Students are brought into the math environment using various learning strategies that are shown in her list of classes (above). She works with hesitant learners, students with dyscalculia, math wizards and budding geniuses and likes to ride along the learning bell curve to reach as many learners as she can. Alice's expertise lies in her ability to communicate mathematically with many learners based on who they are, what they need and what they want. Her methods are not traditional or textbook although a textbook can be present. She believes it is important to spend the time fully exploring mathematial concepts, not just memorize them in the traditional manner. This gives her the freedom to find what out what will engage her students and invite the mathematician within each one to enjoy mathematical ideas.
"The challenge for me is finding that place where each student gets excited, where he/she can't help but learn because the curriculum is so much fun and exciting."
